Shooting Brakes are, dare I say it, the ultimate expression of our Jalopnik sense (over manuals, diesels, and miatas), so show us the best shooting brake, be it a concept or reality.

Wagon or shooting brake, whatever the hell you want to call it. It sure is stunning.

You nailed it. The FF is the best one. Driving that thing is unreal. I only got an hour or so in it, but let me assure you - the FF is the TRUTH.

Please enlighten me to how it isn't.
And I am genuinely curious, because folks struggle to give a concise definition of what a wagon/hatchback is. I would really like to see what the concrete definition of what a shooting brake is, because I sure haven't found one.

Nah. I think I only took one picture, and the roads were pretty wet that day. Oppo readers expect content!

Haha I am satisfied with quick stories. Pics aren't needed!
Did the car drive lighter than it is?

It was hard to get a feel for the weight with the grip level I had. That, and the 650hp v12 was a bit overwhelming to the senses. It felt like it was entirely rear wheel drive, it felt like it didn't have back seats or a hatch for luggage, and it felt like it was worth the jail time to hear the engine at 8,000 rpm on a 35mph twisty road. I've had a couple drives that were absolutely transformative. My first time driving a modern 911 (997 C2S manual with sport exhaust and PCCBs) was one and the FF was the other. I've been in other Ferraris, a GT-R and of course a lot of M cars. There are a lot of wonderful cars out there but the FF was a revelation.

IT SOUNDS AWESOME!!!

The FF really does sound amazing. It's a very large and heavy car. But it seems like it drives like a sports car.
And that 997 you drove sounds awesome too. I should have waited until I could afford a C2S with sport exhaust and PCCBs. Damn it...

Lol. Don't be too hard on yourself. The rule is "buy the best 911 you can afford" not "buy the best 911" - because there is always a better one!

A coupe with a wagon rear. But you're right it is hard to define. I reckon its mostly down to the proportions of the car, if you elongated the front of civic -so the bonnet to cabin ratio is closer to 50/50- it would probably be a shooting brake.
